WEST COAST REPORT TO BILL WILSON
WIRE RECORDING
This will likely be the only opportunity that you will ever have to actually own an item that was personal to Bill W. The items listed on this website that have come from the personal library of Bill W are the only known items held in the private market that can be authenticated as having been owned by Bill W.
This is another “wire recording” from Lois W that was donated to the Midwest tape Library.
A Detroit pioneer travels to cities in CA and reports back to Bill W., the details of his trip.
This recording was also made by George H. of Detroit upon returning from his trip to the west coast. He begins by telling Bill that things in San Diego are going well. He also states that Jim and Rosa B are doing fine, as is Dr. Emily (Bill’s mother). The San Diego groups are in favor of the re-organization being proposed by Bill and stand behind him all the way. The L.A. area is split into five separate sections, but the plan also seems to be accepted.
He reports that some negative comments were coming from San Diego and L.A. related to Father Ralph P. and his selling of books and recordings. They will not welcome him anymore. The San Francisco conference passed a resolution to accept the re-organization as proposed by Bill W.
After the west coast report, George talks to Bill about some problems in the Detroit area related to the Catholics, A.A., and the St. Jude’s Society. This seems to be regarding some activity from a “Father C ”. George claims that the groups (most likely central office) will be splitting up. References are made to Father Ed Dowling, Father Ralph P and Father C.
Also shown in the pictures are four letters from Lois discussing the wires. The buyer will receive a CD of the communication, plus copies of the letters from Lois.
